    happy familyLabor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer and typically celebrated with picnics, barbecues, fireworks displays, parties, and other events. Labor Day is approaching and is just around the corner. Here in Indianapolis, IN there is a host of different fun activities in and around our fine city on this three day weekend. Here is a round up of some of our favorite events this Labor Day Weekend.

    Indy LaborFest. On Saturday, September 5th, Georgia Street will be transformed into Indy LaborFest, a free-admission street festival featuring live music, food, beverages and a kid’s zone. From 11am to 6pm.

    Devour Downtown. Devour Downtown is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary during the Summerfest event over Labor Day weekend with special events and offers. Dining enthusiasts will be able to take advantage of three-course, value-priced menus. Since 2005 Devour Downtown has grown from approximately 25 restaurants to more than 70 eateries offering specially designed dinner menus. Now through September 6th.

    First Fridays Food Truck Festival. The First Friday Food Truck Festival (FFFTF) is in full swing of its 5th annual season. Occurring the first Friday of each month from May through October, you are invited to indulge in the savory selections of Indy’s best food trucks and eclectic assortment of brews from Leinenkugel’s while enjoying live music and entertainment. There are only a few Friday’s left so make sure to check it out on Labor Day weekend. Old National Centre, September 4th , 5pm.
